Here’s one of the healthy recipes that we’ve been enjoying as we transition over into an alkaline diet! Teff flour and whole wheat flour, the flours that I combine in this recipe, are both slightly acidic, but the health benefits contained in both work for us. Whole wheat flour is high in fiber and teff flour is packed full of minerals!

Healthy Apple Muffins Recipe
1 cup of whole wheat flour
1/2 cup of teff flour
3/4 light brown sugar
1/2 tsp of salt
2 tsps of baking powder
2 tsps of cinnamon
1/3 canola oil
1/3 organic milk
2 apples, peeled and diced
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
- Combine ingredients in a large mixing bowl
- Pour into a 12 cup muffin pan (I prefer cup cake liners, otherwise lightly grease the muffin pan with canola oil)
- Bake until a toothpick comes out of the center clean
- Eat and enjoy!
